Licensing for OMA and Marlin-enabled devices
Introduction
On October 2, 2007, Intertrust announced a licensing program for OMA and Marlin DRM devices.
The program has numerous attractive features and is aimed at delivering a licensing framework that enables the adoption of OMA and Marlin-enabled devices and applications,
- License to Intertrust, Philips and Sony patents for OMA and/or Marlin DRM devices and application providers
- Coverage for current and future versions of OMA and Marlin DRM
- Financial incentives for early adopters

Scope
Coverage for Intertrust, Philips, and Sony patents for
OMA DRM and/or Marlin DRM devices.
Description of Eligible Products
This program covers (but is not limited to) to OMA DRM and/or Marlin-enabled consumer devices and software for:
- Mobile phones and communicators
- Portable media and/or disc players
- Set top boxes
- Televisions
- Media player software for personal computers (PCs)
Royalty Rates
Non-PC devices: €0.25 per unit
PC software: €0.25 per copy with a €400,000
annual cap per licensee
Early Adopter Incentive
Any licensee who joins this program before December 31,
2007 will enjoy a royalty holiday until July 1, 2008.
