CCTV High-Tech Development Company and Intertrust Partner to Develop Next Generation Content Marketplace

Beijing and Sunnyvale, Calif., June 1, 2010 — CCTV High-Tech Development Company and Intertrust Technologies Corporation have entered into a technology development partnership to develop a secure online content marketplace as part of China's Next Generation Broadcasting (NGB) initiative.
The trusted content exchange pioneered by CCTV will enable content providers and distributors to conduct business securely over an advanced broadband infrastructure, while ensuring end-to-end protection of high-value content. The partners will develop a secure content management infrastructure based on China DRM Forum’s advanced Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies to manage content throughout the exchange platform lifecycle from production and ingestion through exchange, distribution, and consumption.
“This exchange platform will open up new business models for trusted digital media distribution in China and accelerate the market development of the NGB ecosystem,” said Cao Qing, chief executive officer of CCTV High-Tech Development Company. “We are pleased to be partnering with Intertrust in this important application of the China DRM Forum technology.”
“We are honored to partner with CCTV High-Tech Development Company to develop this trusted content exchange platform,” said Kenny Huang greater China general manager of Intertrust Technologies. “Content protection is a critical component of this project and our cross-platform DRM client and server solutions are ideally positioned to help realize CCTV’s vision of a seamless, secure media marketplace for content and service providers.”
