Sustainable and Precision Agriculture

Abstract

Over the course of my time this summer at Intertrust, I investigated a wide range of topics related to food production.  Initially, I planned on limiting my scope to developing a soil sensor.  However, my investigation soon led to an abundance of free, accessible data related to soil, plant and weather profiling.  An idea for a type of combined social network/database channeled through sustainability developed.  Before going further, I needed to ask producers themselves what type of data they wanted. I got on my bike and have for the past two weeks been going around Marin conducting interviews.  I will present today on the entirety of my investigations.
