In this paper we focus on Trust, Privacy, Security, and Safety (TPSS) principles for a Personal Internet of Things. We describe risks associated with such systems and means for mitigating those risks through the application of trust management and trusted computing technologies and paradigms. In this context we introduce the concept of an Explicit Private Network designed to provide TPSS for things by making control and data paths very explicit.
