The short version? Mobile app security has not kept pace with the explosive growth in applications and the threats targeting them. And that gap has created serious consequences.
In the first half of 2019 alone, iOS and Android patches were released for 440 different security vulnerabilities. It’s not surprising then that Gartner says 75% of all mobile apps would fail basic security tests. Cryptographic issues and information leakage are the top two app flaws— more than 60% contain cryptographic issues.
