Mantis Tecnologia Licenses Intertrust’s Kiora Platform for Delivery of Content on Vale Passenger Trains

Content Available to 1 Million Passengers Without an Internet Connection on Daily Trains between Major Brazilian Travel Hubs.

SAN FRANCISCO—March 24, 2020— Intertrust, the pioneer in Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology, announced that Mantis Tecnologia has tapped Intertrust’s Kiora™ system to protect and manage the delivery of video content to passengers on Vale trains which transport one million passengers a year between Belo Horizonte and Vitória in Brazil.

Vale passengers are now able to view announcements, informational videos, movies and television shows on monitors and mobile devices. Kiora is a complete content management and distribution system designed specifically for off-line environments. The Kiora end-to-end Entertainment Everywhere platform integrates secure content delivery with local Wi-Fi video streaming, supporting all kinds of client devices. Content is protected by studio-approved Intertrust DRM technology for mobile entertainment.

Videocontent will be provided through Filmbankmedia, a joint venture owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment, Sony Pictures and NT Digital Partners.

“Travelers have come to expect that entertainment is part of the service provided, whether on the ground or in the air, and we are pleased to offer a product that seamlessly provides protected video content to Vale passengers,” commented Tom Carroux, Sales Director, Intertrust. “Our partnership with Mantis Tecnologia provides premium TV and movie content that makes the travel experience better.”
