SolarEdge partners with Intertrust to open its DERs to more energy programs
Together with Intertrust Connect, SolarEdge is making it easier for households to get more from their solar and storage. Through the partnership, SolarEdge devices can be linked to the energy programs and apps customers already use to turn stored electricity into lower energy bills.
Making smart energy management simpler for customers
SolarEdge builds smart energy technology for the home: inverters and residential batteries that let households generate, store, and use their own energy. To get the full value of that hardware, it connects to a wider energy ecosystem of retailers, virtual power plant operators, and apps that put batteries to work.
That’s where Intertrust Connect comes in. A single integration with Intertrust makes all SolarEdge inverters and batteries reachable across that ecosystem, without having to customize deployments for each provider.
For households, it means easier access to the programs and services that turn energy into savings. For the energy providers and VPP operators enrolling those systems, it means they can:
- Monitor device state in near real time, with telemetry down to one-minute intervals
- Send charge and discharge commands directly to enrolled devices
- Work with one standard data format, without a separate build per manufacturer
“SolarEdge systems are installed on 1 in 3 solar homes in the U.S and SolarEdge Grid Services has over 500MWh of storage under management. Through virtual power plants, that installed base becomes a valuable resource that operators can build real programs on, reachable through a single integration.”
— Tamara Sinensky, Senior Manager, Grid Services Product – NA, SolarEdge
An open, flexible energy future
The partnership reflects a shared view of where home energy is heading.
“Every device a household adds should be able to take part in the energy system without a custom integration behind it. Bringing SolarEdge into the Intertrust Connect Ecosystem means an energy company can reach SolarEdge batteries through one connection. This is how you scale distributed energy in a way that pays off for providers and consumers alike.”
— Zaki Alattar, Head of Product – Energy, Intertrust
This collaboration moves the energy industry closer to open, interoperable systems, built on shared standards rather than one-off integrations.
Built for scale
The energy market is moving quickly, but it is also fragmented: every region has its own rules and its own mix of hardware, which makes it hard for any one device to reach every program. A single connection to Intertrust Connect clears that. SolarEdge devices become available across the ecosystem at once, which means faster rollouts, lower integration cost, and more flexibility.
Together, SolarEdge and Intertrust Connect make it simpler for households to connect and get more from their solar and storage investments.
