Ming-Syuan Ho, Project Manager at the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, argued for companies to make privacy their brand.
Naohisa Ichihara, Manager Security Department at LINE, talked on changing technical approaches to engineering privacy for a panel discussion on “Balancing Risks in the New Data Economy.”
THE GREAT DATA
We begin by evaluating the latest in security risks and privacy regulation, and their effects on information security and privacy. How have social networks and the sharing economy affected our notions of community? And, how has the GDPR impacted consumer services 6 months in?
Technological advances such as AI, IoT, AR/VR, and cloud-based data platforms present enormous benefits for consumers and enterprise alike. But they also present emerging security risks. We’ll highlight upcoming threats and discuss how the privacy landscape is evolving.
How de we manage the risks associated with a data-driven future? Not just through technological fixes, but policy. Expect lively discussion as we consider different solutions to keep the Internet trusted, secure, and open.
