With the GDPR now in force, Tomas Sander, Intertrust’s Data Protection Officer, gave a talk on how companies can implement privacy by design, an engineering approach required by the GDPR.
Cameron Briggs, General Manager of the Australian energy company Origin Energy, presented the results of a test of peer-to-peer energy trading.
Jun Sakuma, a Professor at the University of Tsukuba, gave a talk on privacy engineering techniques.
Intertrust’s CTO Dave Maher presented some interesting history on cybersecurity and how it led to Intertrust’s current approach to technology.
Edouard Gasser, CEO of the startup Tilak Healthcare, provided some background on his company’s playful approach to healthcare.
Ming-Syuan Ho, Project Manager at the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, argued for companies to make privacy their brand.
Naohisa Ichihara, Manager Security Department at LINE, talked on changing technical approaches to engineering privacy for a panel discussion on “Balancing Risks in the New Data Economy.”
